Biography

Born in 1942, entered U.S. Army from Silver Spring, Maryland, in 1964. Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross for action in Vietnam in March, 1969. Retired in 1987 with over 23 years of military service. Since moving to Arizona in 1982, has been active in Mt. View High School, serving, with his wife, as copresidents of marching band boosters. Helped send band to bi-centennial celebration for the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia and Washington, DC Lifelong involvement in support of Boy Scouts led to all three sons being Eagle Scouts. Serves as Arizona Representative for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, participating in Congressional Academy seminars and college nights. Participates in Mesa Knights of Columbus programs, often overseeing and preparing meals for the men’s transitional living center. As current commander of DAV Chapter 8, led effort that tripled proceeds from DAV thrift store, leading to a second store in 2002. Recognized in 2001-2002 as best DAV Chapter Commander in Arizona. Currently serving as Aide-de-Camp to DAV National Commander.
