Biography

Born in Auburn, California in 1945. Staff Sergeant, US Air Force 1964-1976, including service in Vietnam and Thailand. Jim Sylvester has traveled throughout Arizona, volunteering his time supporting various veteran service organizations’ youth programs, homeless veterans, and veterans who are in need of assistance with their earned benefits. He serves as a Senior Counselor at The American Legion Boys State Program; each year he presents, on behalf of The American Legion, awards to deserving cadets. Jim is a dedicated supporter of the new Eloy Veterans Center. He can be found volunteering to drive distressed veterans in need to Tucson and Phoenix VA hospitals for their appointments, waiting and driving them back home. Jim Sylvester is active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Patriot Guard Riders, Arizona Coalition for Military Families, and the Honoring/Hiring/Helping Our Heroes of Pinal County (HOPH) program.
