Biography

Born in Guntersville, Alabama in 1949, Johnny Stewart served in the US Air Force, 1970-1994, retiring as a Master Sergeant in fuels management. The next 18 years, Johnny worked in fuels logistics at Davis-Monthan AFB. Upon retiring from civil service, Johnny joined the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 2 in Tucson and worked his way up the ladder to Department Commander, DAV, serving for two years. In 1995 Johnny founded the Touch of Class community service organization that raised funds for underprivileged children. Over $90,000 was raised for college tuition and donated to 50 children in low income families. Starting in 2008, Johnny, a certified Service Officer, volunteered over 700 hours helping 235 veterans file VA claims. Johnny is the Co-Founder of the DAV Arizona Legal Clinics program which has resolved the legal issues of over 1,000 veterans.
