Biography

Born in Blue Island, Illinois in 1919. Enlisted U.S. Coast Guard in 1941, completed flight training for reconnaissance and rescue missions. Completed helicopter training in 1953. Retired in 1971 with rank of Lieutenant. Entered the field of men’s clothing and business management; retired in 1981. Has been an active member of Lions International for 35 years, with awards for his community service, has collected over 2,000 pairs of glasses for the lions “Sight First” project; and a 65 year member of Elks International. Past President of Military Officers Association of America, served many years on the JROTC Scholarship Committee. Past member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and Navy League.
