Biography

Born in Vidalia, Georgia in 1931. Colonel, US Army Special Forces, Retired 1987 with 39 years of service including Korea, Laos and Vietnam. As Treasurer, Arizona Territorial Chapter, Association of the US Army (AUSA), Jim established the Arizona Army National Guard Relief Fund. His community and veteran activities include volunteering at the State Veteran Home Phoenix, and the Maricopa County StandDown. For several years Jim provided financial counseling to airmen and retired military of all branches at the Luke AFB Judge Advocate General office. For sixteen years, he served on Senator McCain’s Service Academy Selection Committee. In addition to AUSA, Jim continues to assist Korean War Veterans, Vietnam Veterans of America, Special Forces Association, and Disabled American Veterans. Jim is a participant and ardent supporter of the Veterans Heritage Project.
