Biography

James “Jim” D. Edgmon was born in Bakersfield, California in 1940. He was a Private First Class, US Army; and a Vietnam Era Veteran. A Teamster by trade, he volunteered to deliver a stranded box trailer from Arizona to PROJECT TOUCH organization in Paradise, CA. He delivered hospital and educational supplies to northern Arizona and New Mexico for three years, then he took over the Southwest Area of PROJECT TOUCH, delivering toys and supplies to needy families on the Navajo, Hopi, and Zuni reservations. He is the Founder of Arizona Project Caring Hearts Annual Toy Run and Arizona Cares Disaster Relief. After 9/11, Jim worked with the Arizona Legislature to name a portion of Interstate 17 as Arizona Veterans Highway and establish a monument and flagpoles at McGuireville, AZ. In 2003 he organized a freedom rally in Mesa, Arizona to send supplies to troops in Iraq.
