Biography

Born in Tucson, Arizona in 1949, David Alegria, Captain, US Army, Retired, served with distinction in the 82nd Airborne Division and in the Phoenix Program in Vietnam until serious combat injuries resulted in medical retirement in 1972. David retired from the City of Tucson after serving the citizens of Tucson for 31 years. He has helped many veterans file VA claims. His knowledge of veteran’s issues makes David a force multiplier representing the Mayor of Tucson on the Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee and as a founding board member of “Hats Off to Heroes” honoring veterans. While Commander, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Tucson, David helped raise more than $200,000 to assist veterans in need. As an Arizona Fisher House Foundation Board Member, David Alegria continues fundraising efforts to serve the needs of veterans and their families.
