Biography

Born in Monticello, New York in 1937, Harvey Bershader is a US Army veteran with Combat Engineer service, 1959-1962. He is retired from the oil and gas industry. An active member of the Jewish War Veterans of America, the Association of the US Army, and The American Legion Post 25, Cottonwood, Arizona; Harvey strongly supported an event in 2016 which raised $12,000 to construct a Veterans Memorial Park in Cottonwood. He volunteers annually at the Yavapai County and Maricopa County StandDowns. As a member of the Board of Directors, Sedona Public Library, Harvey chairs a fundraising committee whose goal is to raise funds for a multimillion dollar project to re-purpose the Library. Harvey Bershader is currently working with the State StandDown Committee to organize and establish an annual StandDown to assist veterans in the Verde Valley-Sedona area.
