Biography

(1941-2017) Born in Seattle, Washington in 1941. Active duty in the U.S. Army (Infantry) from 1963–1993 with service in Vietnam, Korea and Europe. Attained the rank of Colonel. Gene directed a Junior ROTC program in San Jose, California for 12 years. Served as Executive Vice President and President of the 800-member Arizona Territorial Chapter of the Association of the United States Army, supporting comprehensive ROTC and Junior ROTC programs, conducting Yellow Ribbon events for deploying/redeploying troops, and serving as an Arizona StandDown volunteer guide for homeless veterans. Gene raised more than $40,000 for programs for veterans, ROTC cadets, soldiers, and military families. He works with the Gold Star Mothers and the Veterans Heritage Project. Gene is also an active member of the Military Officers Association of America and the Military Order of World Wars.
