Biography

(1923-2005) Born in Germany and naturalized 1943. Served during WWII in U.S. Army Europe, as well as U.S. Army in Korea and Vietnam; retired after 39 years with rank of Major General, and Commander of Ft. Huachuca. Formed United Way of Cochise County and served as Executive Director for 20 years while refusing a salary. Appointed to the Cochise County Federal Emergency Management Board, 1986 to present. Advisor to the Greater Sierra Vista Chamber of Commerce Military Advisory Committee. Active member of Huachuca Museum Society, Armed Forces Communication and Electronic Assoc., Military Officers Association of America, Sierra Vista Symphony Assoc., and Cowboy Poetry and Music Assoc. Received the first Lifetime Achievement Award from the Greater Sierra Vista Chamber of Commerce in 2004 for his service to the community.
