Biography

Born in Snicarte, Illinois in 1932. Sergeant, US Marine Corps,1952-1955, with service in the Korean War. Resident of Tempe, Arizona. A dedicated volunteer in the community since 1966 (47 years and still going strong), he has donated thousands of hours of volunteer work, and helped to raise approximately $112,000 in donations for various causes. In Tucson he served as a volunteer youth league coach and also developed a flag football program for boys at the elementary school level. In 1974 in Tempe, he served in many different capacities including President of the Marcos de Niza Pop Warner Football Association. Don has volunteered over 850 hours in the Military Hospitality Room, now known as the USO, at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, and serves on the USO Phoenix Advisory Council.
